Selected work / Hawaiian BBQ House
One restaurant identity, from menus to the web.
Hawaiian BBQ House was a restaurant in Waipahu, Hawaiʻi. I designed its logo and visual identity, built its website, and created its printed menu, digital menu boards, banner, and catering poster. The project connected two needs: introducing the restaurant and presenting a detailed menu across several formats.

A recognizable identity across formats
I paired a bold wordmark with a flame-and-food symbol, using red, yellow, and orange. Vertical and horizontal arrangements allowed the restaurant’s name and mark to fit different spaces.
I carried this identity into the website, menu cover, and banner alongside food imagery. Information-heavy layouts used quieter backgrounds to separate menu categories and price columns.

Organizing a detailed printed menu
I organized the trifold around plate lunches, breakfast, sandwiches, sides, and larger party orders. Category headings divided the selection, while separate columns distinguished portion sizes and prices.
The cover served a different purpose: a featured dish, the restaurant identity, and contact and ordering information introduced the business before the detailed menu. The printed piece worked as both an introduction and a reference.
Adapting the menu for screens
I adapted the menu into three wide-screen layouts, using bold condensed lettering, colored section bars, and highlighted prices to distinguish the main information types.
I grouped the contents of each party package together, while other sections used repeated item-and-price rows. These layouts presented the detailed menu without the promotional imagery used on the trifold cover.

Bringing the identity to the website
I designed and built the website around prominent branding and food imagery, followed by restaurant, menu, and location sections. Calls to view the menu or order takeout appeared alongside practical information about the business.
The desktop layout paired image-and-text sections; the mobile presentation arranged the content vertically. The same identity connected the website with the printed and screen-based materials.
One project, across web and print
From the logo and website to menus, a promotional banner, and a catering poster, I created a coordinated set of materials for the restaurant. Each format had a different job, connected by a shared visual identity.
